Last weekend Alex and I went to Ipoh to hunt for our bed. We want a decent bedframe, wooden, dark brown, and solid. We need a matress too, and opt for fiber mattress.

The first shop that we went to was WESCOURT.

Their bedframe designs are not bad, and there are a variety of choices; but the mattress was a but pricy. On top of that, they charge for delivery to Kampar. This is their location:

The second shop that we went to was SWL furniture. We were attracted by the banner that says : HARGA DARI KILANG.

However we were quite disappointed that their price is just the same as those "not-from-kilang", the designs look old, and the worst thing is delivery. They charge RM80 to deliver to Kampar, and you have to "suite their time". The lady told us they only deliver when they receive few orders from Kampar, and so far, they receive none. The lady added that maybe we need to wait for some time, but she promise we should be getting our bed before "new year". OK, I don't mind to wait for a week. But wait, no, what she meant was Chinese New Year! Which is 14 Feb 2009!

I burst into laughter upon hearing this!

And we were laughing all the way to the third shop - Sin Hup Fatt Furniture.

Here, the service is good, delivery is free, price is decent for both bedframe and mattress, and we manage to spot a bedframe which matches my earlier description! They deliver the next working day, so we don't have to wait till Chinese New Year!

JJ Cakes

I would like to post my first entry with something that resembles my own name - JJ Cakes!

JJ swiss rolls come in a variety of flavour:

I have tried a few varieties - banana cream cheese, fresh durian, fresh strawberry, butter cream (pandan), and love them very much! Next time I am going to try chestnut puree, coffee walnut and black sesame.

The swiss rolls are XL size if compared to ordinary swiss rolls sold in bakery.

Ohya, keep the receipts, because for every 5 swiss rolls that you buy, you will get 1 free =D

However one can tell that food colouring was used to give the green "pandan" colour for the butter cream pandan flavour, on top of that, the swiss rolls do not have the pandan fragrance, though the butter cream actually taste good.

I bought mine in Restaurant De Mouth, which is located at the ground floor of Fairmount Hotel.

So, next time when you want to indulge, or impress your in-laws, or buy your parents something they had not tried, you know where to go!
